Local Information and Links

Stawley and Ashbrittle are two of the 10 Parishes which are a loose association of the parishes around Wiveliscombe. They have a combined population of about 500 people. Although the map below doesn’t show them the two more local towns are Wellington and Taunton.

The major access to the parishes is from the A38 junction just north of the Somerset/ Devon border. This road starts off with two lanes but after Greenham bridge turns mainly into a narrower lane with passing spots. The Greenham bridge is known to flood. There is a gauge there though which can be viewed here.

If you are new to the area, or know someone who is, then a welcome pack is available from the Rural Community Initiative that will give you a lot of useful local information. We are surrounded by great places to visit which can be reached on the page here.

Roads & Travel in our parishes are maintained by Somerset Highways. They rapidly respond to reports of potholes or other problems. You can report an issue here. You can find more local travel information here.

Council Services are supplied by Somerset Council. To complain about noise, smoke or other nuisance click here. If you believe work has been carried out that contravenes planning rules you can tell the Planning Officers by clicking here.
